BeeGFS is a highly respected and popular parallel file system, used by many Bright customers. Bright integrated with BeeGFS in response to requests from Bright’s customer base. The integration offers:

  • Setup utility – An easy-to-use wizard automates the process of setting up BeeGFS within Bright Cluster Manager
  • Configuration – CMDaemon roles configure BeeGFS in Bright Cluster Manager
  • Metrics, health-checks, and service management – Bright ensures that BeeGFS is always working properly by reporting on the performance and health of BeeGFS in BrightView, the central management console
"

Leveraging the full performance of the available hardware while still keeping all components easy to manage has always been our primary goal with BeeGFS. Bright Cluster Manager makes it very easy to configure BeeGFS and to monitor the system utilization, helping system administrators to significantly improve the application runtime of their cluster users.

About BeeGFS

BeeGFS, developed at the Fraunhofer Center for High Performance Computing in Germany and delivered by ThinkParQ, is a parallel cluster file system with a strong focus on performance and flexibility, and is designed for very easy installation and management. BeeGFS is free of charge, and transparently spreads user data across multiple servers. By increasing the number of servers and disks in the system, users can simply scale performance and capacity of the file system to the level needed, from small clusters up to enterprise-grade systems with thousands of nodes.
