Please join us to learn more about:

“Modernizing High Performance Computing Systems with Bright Computing’s Auto-Scaler Technology to Improve Performance and Throughput”

Bright Computing has developed an “auto-scaling” technology for HPC clusters that continuously optimize the cluster configuration to match the workload. We are very passionate about Autoscaling, and excited to share our experience with the SDSC community.

During the webinar, Robert Stober, Director of Product Management, will explain how Auto-scaler works with mixed batch-scheduled and Kubernetes clusters, and resizes the clusters by dynamically reassigning servers between the two, based on workload and configured policies. Robert will explore how this technology brings a new level of utility and functionality to HPC systems.

Bright Cluster Manager is being deployed on SDSC’s latest supercomputer, the ‘Expanse’ system, so we’ll review the outcomes SDSC is gaining with the implementation of a commercial cluster management system.

We first announced that SDSC had chosen Bright Cluster Manager to manage the facility’s Expanse supercomputer, in May 2020. Bright Cluster Manager enables Expanse to balance and manage resource diversity across virtually all domains of their science and engineering users, maximizing resource utilization and increasing workload efficiency for research scientists across the country and beyond. Expanse is available to tens-of-thousands of researchers across the U.S. through the National Science Foundation’s Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment. We hope you are able to join us on October 7!
