Case Study : How to Deploy a Dynamic Data Center

In case you’re not familiar with it, the idea is to build a clustered environment that can handle the ever-changing mix of workloads that users in modern organizations expect to run. Today it may be a big HPC job. Tomorrow it may be a data-intensive big data day. Or maybe the DevOps team needs to spin up several different clusters quickly to test a new capability they’re working on. Sounds like a job for…dynamic data center!

OK, maybe providing a dynamic data center won’t turn you into a super hero, but it can go a long way towards making your life easier, and making your users happier. How? We recently chronicled a case study of a major electronics company in Europe that deployed their own dynamic data center. They started out a few years back with a straightforward HPC cluster, but evolved to embrace the concept of the dynamic data center to meet the needs of the 10,000+ customers running over 30+ applications.
