The 2015 Hadoop Summit is taking place this week, Wednesday and Thursday in Brussels, Belgium. Of course, Bright Computing will be at the Summit, highlighting our own solution for managing Hadoop clusters, as well as taking part in the conversations about the current state of Hadoop and what to expect for the future.
Likely to be on everyone’s mind at this Summit is managing Hadoop. The notorious complexity of Hadoop means that those, like Bright Computing, who can help customers to manage the software are valuable. Also likely to be discussed is the expertise gap: Hadoop can be incredibly useful, but the number of folks who have the necessary knowledge to expertly run and use Hadoop clusters is fairly low. This is tied into the issues of complexity and management, and, similarly, the gap can be partially closed with the aid of quality management software.
Speaking of which, Bright Cluster Manager for Apache Hadoop will be on display at the Summit. Bright Computing’s add-on for Hadoop debuted at the Summit last year, and has undergone significant updates in the meantime. Our experts will be on hand to discuss Bright in its current form, as well as the exciting updates to be added in version 7.1 later this spring.
Overall, attendees of the Hadoop Summit in Brussels can surely look forward to the quality of this event. Hadoop Summits have been growing steadily, year after year, which is unsurprising, given that Hadoop has been called the most successful Apache project apart from the venerable Apache Web Server. With an exciting schedule of events and keynotes that promise to be engaging, we at Bright Computing are looking forward to this Summit.
