By Cameron Daniel | July 01, 2015 | OpenStack, OpenStack Deployment, vodcast

Version 7.1 of our management solution for OpenStack was released last month; we sat down with Ian Lumb, Product Marketing Manager, to discuss the release of Bright OpenStack in a three-part vodcast series.

Ian takes us through some of the key enhancements made in version 7.1 to Bright Computing’s  management solution for OpenStack in Part I of our series. Some enhancements to look forward to include: automated installation and configuration; newly integrated BIOS support and updated metrics; updated user interface; and more. Watch Part I of the series to get an in-depth look at all the new features in this version.bright_blog

In Part II, Ian and I take a deeper look at the updates to the OpenStack Deployment Wizard. Ian takes us step-by-step through the process from information gathering all way to implementation. Deploying the Bright OpenStack solution has never been easier or more customizable.

Lastly, Ian discusses how Bright Computing’s use of its own product has helped the company to shape many of the enhancements you see in version 7.1 in Part III of the series. The use of their own ‘Krusty the Cloud’ has helped Bright’s team discover which pain points their customers need addressed, but it’s more than just a  test bed. Making ‘Krusty’ part of the company’s in-house infrastructure has led to many innovative uses for Bright OpenStack that will help customers make the most of it.
