San Jose, California — Bright Computing, the leading provider of vendor-independent cluster and cloud management software, announces that Kristin Hansen has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer. Hansen will report directly to Bright Computing Founder and CEO Matthijs van Leeuwen.

Ms. Hansen is a marketing, communications, and investor relations executive with more than 20 years of experience driving the success of both large and small organizations. Her experience includes running global marketing for Micromuse, a publicly-held infrastructure management software company that was acquired by IBM in 2006. She subsequently ran global marketing for IBM’s enterprise content management business and launched the company’s first cross-divisional cloud computing marketing team.

Ms. Hansen holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and has recently served as a communication coach in Stanford’s MBA program, developing students’ skills in writing, public speaking, group communications, and executive presence. She is also an active volunteer with Bead for Life, a Uganda-based non-profit organization that provides entrepreneurial training and opportunity to women living in extreme poverty.
