Monday, May 22, 2017 - Amsterdam, the Netherlands – Bright Computing, a global leader in cluster and cloud infrastructure automation software, today announced that integration with BeeGFS has been included in Bright Cluster Manager 8.0.
BeeGFS, developed at the Fraunhofer Center for High Performance Computing in Germany and delivered by ThinkParQ, is a parallel cluster file system with a strong focus on performance and flexibility, and is designed for very easy installation and management. BeeGFS is free of charge, and transparently spreads user data across multiple servers. By increasing the number of servers and disks in the system, users can simply scale performance and capacity of the file system to the level needed, from small clusters up to enterprise-grade systems with thousands of nodes.
This latest development from Bright Computing is in response to an increasing number of requests from Bright’s customer base to integrate with BeeGFS.
The new integration offers:
Martijn de Vries, CTO at Bright Computing, commented; "BeeGFS is a highly respected and popular parallel file system; many of our customers have been using it for a number of years. It makes perfect sense to formalize the integration to ensure that setup and management of BeeGFS in Bright Cluster Manager is quick, easy, error free, and adds immediate value to our customers’ cluster management experience."
Sven Breuner, CEO of ThinkParQ, added: "Leveraging the full performance of the available hardware while still keeping all components easy to manage has always been our primary goal with BeeGFS. Seeing how easy it is with the new Bright Cluster Manager to configure BeeGFS and to monitor the system utilization is really impressive and will help system administrators to significantly improve the application runtime of their cluster users. And since many of the BeeGFS customers are using Bright Cluster Manager already and all others can now enable it with just a few clicks, this integration provides an immediate benefit to the community."
