Bright Computing, the leading provider of vendor-independent cluster and cloud management software, continues to enhance its software solutions with the announcement of Bright Cluster Manager and Bright OpenStack version 8.1 alpha.
The update features OpenStack Pike, cloud bursting to OpenStack, workload management accounting and reporting, a lightweight cluster management daemon, customer rebuildable deep learning packages, and many enhancements to Ceph and Kubernetes support.
“The response to our last major release, 8.0, has been tremendous. Many of our customers are now using containers and are expanding their use of cloud services,” said Martijn de Vries, Chief Technology Officer of Bright Computing. "Version 8.1 alpha adds many new features that our customers have asked for, such as the latest release of OpenStack, and the ability to burst clusters into their OpenStack clouds.”
The 8.1 alpha will be tested with select customers, followed by a beta release in December, and general release planned for January 2018.
