San Jose, California — Bright Computing, the leading provider of hardware-agnostic cluster and cloud management software, announces that it will showcase its enhancements and updates to Bright Cluster Manager for Apache Hadoop in booth H at the Hadoop Summit in Brussels. The summit will take place April 15-16, 2015 at The Brussels SQUARE Meeting Centre in Brussels, Belgium.

Enhancements and updates have been made to Bright Cluster Manager for Apache Hadoop continuously since its initial release last year. These, along with brand-new capabilities due to be released in Bright Cluster Manager 7.1 in May, make it even easier for Bright customers to deploy, monitor, and manage Hadoop clusters of all sizes in a variety of environments.

“Bright Cluster Manager for Apache Hadoop makes it easy to start with bare metal and then deploy, monitor, and manage Hadoop clusters effectively,” said Ian Lumb, Product Marketing Manager at Bright Computing. “ The software is integrated with the latest versions of a variety of distributions, as well as six data-platform applications, to allow customers to easily deploy a Hadoop cluster that meets their needs.”

Additionally, customers looking to pair Hadoop with HPC can allocate resources to deploy, monitor, and manage both the Hadoop and HPC stacks from a single instance of the intuitive Bright graphical user interface (GUI). Bright Cluster Manager is in use in this hybrid capacity in the Cypress supercomputer at Tulane University.

“We believe that the ability to manage Hadoop along with a new or existing HPC cluster from a single pane of glass, a capability that is unique to Bright Computing’s solution, will be exceptionally useful to our customers,” he added. “ Bright Cluster Manager is able to manage these highly converged infrastructures and troubleshoot throughout the entire stack, all while retaining full functionality and flexibility.”

More information about the Bright Cluster Manager for Hadoop and updates in Version 7.1 will be available at the Summit. Bright Computing is a silver sponsor of the Hadoop Summit.
