San Jose, California — Bright Computing, specialist in cluster management software and services for high-performance computing (HPC), is proud to announce that it has won the Intel® Cluster Ready Voyager Award for its Bright Cluster Manager® software solution for HPC Linux clusters.

The Intel Voyager Award is dedicated to companies that have combined full Intel Cluster Ready compliance with consistent dedication to the Intel Cluster Ready architecture. The award was presented today to Bright Computing's CTO, Martijn de Vries, during a special session organized by Intel at the Supercomputing 2009 (SC09) conference in Portland, Oregon.

"Intel is delighted to present Bright Computing with the Intel Cluster Ready Voyager Award," said Bill Magro, Director HPC Software Solutions, Software and Services Group, Intel. "Bright Cluster Manager has officially been Intel Cluster Ready compliant since the first half of 2008. Bright Cluster Manager is a user-friendly software product, designed to make an easy job of installing, monitoring, managing, and using clusters. This product — with both it's current name and original ClusterVisionOS name — has been installed on hundreds of clusters across Europe and the US."

Bill Magro continues: "Bright Cluster Manager has also been installed on several TOP500 systems. Bright Computing has been a supporter of Intel Cluster Ready right from the very start, and we salute the Bright Computing team for that very bright decision."

The Intel Cluster Ready (ICR) Program was introduced by Intel to improve the level of compatibility between turn-key HPC Linux clusters, cluster management software and parallel applications. Bright Cluster Manager is an official Intel Cluster Ready component and fully complies with the Intel Cluster Ready specification."

Bright Cluster Manager is a Linux-based cluster management software solution specifically designed to make HPC clusters of any size easy to install, use and manage. Its intuitive graphical user interface offers consistent access to all management and monitoring functionality for the cluster administrators. Its HPC user environment provides a comprehensive range of HPC software development tools for the cluster users.

Bright Computing will be demonstrating Bright Cluster Manager at the Supercomputing 2009 conference in Portland, Oregon, November 17th to 19th, 2009 (booth 1347).
