University of North Dakota Deploys Bright Cluster Manager for HPC, Data Science, and the Cloud on HPE Apollo 6500 Gen10 System

SAN JOSE – Today, Bright Computing, a global leader in Linux cluster automation and management software for HPC and machine learning, announced that the University of North Dakota (UND) has chosen Bright Cluster Manager for HPC, Bright Cluster Manager for Data Science, and Bright OpenStack to unify its newly designed clustered infrastructure giving them more versatility, access to the cloud and to deep learning resources. The supercomputer at UND runs on the HPE Apollo 6500 Gen10 system, purpose-built for HPC and a leading platform for deep learning. The project was overseen by Core Technology Services (CTS) of the North Dakota University System, with input from Bright partner, Data in Science.

Bright Computing Supplies Bright Cluster Manager™ to Fox Chase Cancer Center

San Jose, CA – Bright Computing, the leading provider of hardware-agnostic cluster and cloud management software, announces it has supplied its Bright Cluster Manager™ solution to the Fox Chase Cancer Center for use in a new high-performance computing (HPC) cluster. The 30-node cluster supports bioinformatics initiatives for Fox Chase’s world class cancer research programs. Fox Chase focuses on RNA sequencing and variant calling in tumor samples, as well as clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) data processing, protein structure prediction and molecular modeling, and computational docking investigations for drug discovery. Fox Chase Cancer Center chose Bright Cluster Manager for its easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI), which gives researchers point and click cluster management, rather than the traditional command line interface with which many researchers struggle.
