Cray takes of Bright Cluster Manager to offer key services to its customers such as automated Luster server failover. Cray customers may as well benefit from an image-based provisioning, built-in redundancy via automatic failover, support for diskless nodes, and proven scalability to TOP500 class configurations.
Bright Cluster Manager has been deployed on large HPC installations and on external services piece of the Cray XE6 supercomputer at the United States Department of Energy's National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC).
"Bright Cluster Manager is a major differentiator and enabler for Cray's external solutions. Bright provides easy-to-use, yet powerful provisioning, monitoring, and management capabilities for our external servers, and provides the flexibility to deploy additional automated management services to meet the specific needs of each customer. We are now able to log important data that was not previously captured — allowing performance analysts and remote support engineers to make more informed decisions."
